Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
In 2016 Oak Flats Public School will extend the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy and initiative to include the Stage 2 classes. This will commence in Term 3 in all Stage 2 classes.
Students in Stage 2 will be asked to bring an iPad to school each day. The potential for this device is that it can be integrated into the classroom to meet the learning outcomes of any lesson and become an everyday functional and communicative educational tool.
The iPad has an instantaneous start-up and is ready to use immediately, a long battery life, and is easily portable. In a classroom setting, there is essentially unlimited access to information, multimedia and learning activities. The iPad as a teaching resource, like all information technology, will ensure that students' learning can be taken into the future.
